“Celebration of an extraordinary life in an extraordinary place.”
We booked Prested Hall for afternoon tea to follow our Mother’s funeral mass. This was provided for us and included our Mother’s favourite type of cake – baked especially on the day – even though the timing of our event was outside the usual time for serving afternoon tea. The service we received was excellent; discrete, polite, helpful, friendly and efficient. The food was plentiful and absolutely delicious; all freshly baked that morning, with tea and coffee topped up on request and soft or alcoholic drinks from the bar. The food was served on delicate vintage china in a gorgeous room overlooking the ‘moat’. We could also use the lounge and library if we wanted to, which was much appreciated. Champagne was an option, which we chose, so that we could give Mother a farewell toast.
Toilets were clean and well maintained; the ladies toilets were upstairs, but we were offered the use of a downstairs room, should any of our lady guests be unable to negotiate the stairs (at no extra cost).
All in all, an excellent experience and I would thoroughly recommend Prested Hall, whatever the event and would like to thank all the wonderful staff for enabling us to celebrate Mother’s life and to say goodbye in a style that she would have revelled in; especially the fine china and lemon drizzle cake!”
