March 2007

Prested Hall is extremely proud to host the British Professional Doubles Championships, taking part from the 10-13 May. Come and watch some of the world’s top players compete in some fast and furious tennis.

Claire Vigrass, the first ever girl to win a presentation racket for most improved junior at Queens, will be taking part in the tournament, as will her sister Sarah. Within their groups, the Vigrass sisters are the best players in the world. Look out for both girls in the Evening Gazette during the run-up to the competition.

Ricardo has returned from Australia where he won the main Australian handicap title (9-8 in the final). His handicap is now down to better than zero, and he’s ranked 19 in the world. He is currently in the USA where he is doing really well, very impressive stuff!

Prested continues to do well in both National Leagues (with 5 teams in various divisions), and also in the Brodie Cup, for which the team fly off to Newcastle soon to tackle their semi- final.

Wednesday 14th march there will be a vital National League match with Matty and Ricardo playing against a team from Hampton Court. Supper will be available (booking preferable), came and enjoy some top class tennis from 5pm.
