We have a friendly, informal book club at Prested for Prested members. The group meets at roughly six-weekly intervals at 11.00am on a Wednesday, to discuss a book selected by one of the members. We generally meet in the Hall unless there is a function there, in which case we gather in the club room. We regret we currently have no space for new members, but do read along with us, and if you wish to be put on the waiting list please email Celie: cp@prested.co.ukThe next meeting is at 11.00 on Wednesday 13 October when we shall be discussing four books:
The Elegance of The Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery
The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas
The Legacy by Katherine Webb
The Bookseller of Kabul by Asne Seierstad

A Sea of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh
Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel (generally found to be heavy going, but one member can't wait for the sequel!0
Dissolution by C J Sansom (thumbs up all round)
Paperboy by Christopher Fowler (not popular)
A Voyage for Madmen by Peter Nichols (a great read - even for non sailors)
The Road Home by Rose Tremain (not a successful choice, sadly)
Netherland by Joseph O'Neill (mixed reviews... takes a while to get into)
The Basque History of The World by Mark Kurlansky (fascinating)
This Party's Got to Stop by Rupert Thomson (from totally absorbing, beautifully written with negative comments from others)
Happy reading!
