Real Tennis World Record Attempt - £2,200 raised so far!! Rising to the Challenge… For Sport Relief
From 10am on Saturday 20th March, Will played as many single opponents as he could manage for a straight 24 hours and, in so doing, he was aiming to create a new Guinness World Record: Real Tennis, Singles, Most Consecutive Opponents.
Will, the CFO of Screenocean Ltd says, “I’ve been playing Real Tennis for over ten years and I’m so pleased to be able to use something I love to create good for other people. I’ve been undertaking intense training in the 6 short weeks since deciding to do this - sometimes playing for a solid 8 hours to prepare me for the marathon that faces me. Played with heavy wooden rackets, I have no doubt, by the end of the epic 24 hours, I’ll have a right arm to match Rafael Nadal’s!” • Prested Hall has two of the 25 Real Tennis courts in the UK. • The Sport Relief Weekend took place from Friday 19th March to Sunday 21st March 2010 providing three whole days of energy, entertainment and events for everyone to enjoy. From the Friday of fundraising fun, and a night of cracking TV on BBC One, right through to the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday, it was a brilliant weekend. And, the best bit is, all the cash raised will help people living incredibly tough lives across the UK and the world’s poorest countries. • Since its launch in 2002, Sport Relief has raised over £80 million. • Sport Relief, an initiative of Comic Relief, registered charity 326568 (England/Wales); SC039730 (Scotland). |
